Victoria Beckham for Target: My Thoughts
On April 9th, Victoria Beckham released an exclusive collection for Target stores. Let me preface this by saying that I LOVE Victoria Beckham. From her career as a Spice Girl, to releasing her own fashion label, she has been someone I've looked up to for a while now. Also, I have to add that she's drop dead gorgeous. Anyway, I went in with high hopes for this collection and all of my expectations were met. I actually stood outside in line at 6am for 2 hours at my local target, with crusty makeup from the previous night and hair sticking in many directions. I was skeptical about going when the store first opened. There were so many horror stories from the Lilly Pulitzer and Missoni collections that I didn't want to put myself in unsafe situations. Luckily, Target made better decisions with the VB line by having all of the items available online as well as in store. This made it the collection more accessible and less people went to the store the day of. Thankfully, all of the women that I was in line with were all really friendly and when we actually made it into the store, everyone was helping each other find the sizes they needed.
Ok the moment you've all been waiting for: the clothes. The entire collection had a focus on bright colors and wearable pieces that can be mixed and matched. Calla Lilies were featured as well as retro 70's prints. All of the pieces I purchased and tried on (I tried on basically everything) were really well made and all of the fabrics felt like they could be at a high end store. The clothes ranged from $6-70 but almost all of the pieces were $40 or less. The Women's line had a matching Toddler line that was ADORABLE. If I had a daughter, I would have bought everything in sight! Also, there was a plus sized line too! Overall, I appreciate Target and VB's vision of a classic line with flare, something that is hard to do, but when it's done right, is a showstopper.
