My Favorite Coffee Places
If you have ever met me, you know my day (life) revolves around coffee. I usually go to Starbucks multiple times a week, or even multiple times a day. As Lorelai Gilmore would say, "I need coffee in an I.V." My love of coffee comes with high standards, and an appreciation for bold and strong flavors. Here are some of the places I have been to all across the US that I absolutely love!
SAINT LOUIS
Kaldis Coffee
Out of all the coffee shops in STL, my all time favorite is Kaldis. The atmosphere is perfect for doing homework and going on a coffee date with friends. Also the coffee is amazing and reasonably priced. I always get a vanilla latte or in the summer I get the Honey Almond Toddy which is basically just an iced latte with almond milk and honey for added sweetness. At Loufest I probably had around 3 each day they are that good.
Comet Coffee
Comet Coffee is my newest find in STL. I had their cold brew and it was fantastic. The only downside was that it was a tad pricey, but other than that I loved Comet Coffee. It's perfect on a nice day because there is a lot of outdoor seating that is shaded.
Blueprint Coffee
Blueprint coffee is the perfect place to relax after walking around the Delmar Loop. I had a latte and it had a really nice, earthy tone to it. The entire store is very "Instagramable" so if taking pictures of coffee is your thing, definitely go to Blueprint.
NEW YORK CITY
Swallow Cafe
I stumbled across Swallow Cafe when I was with my family in Bushwick, Brooklyn. I wasn't expecting anything special but boy was I wrong. I had just a plain black coffee and it was SO GOOD! It was also very quiet in there which was nice and relaxing as a contrast from loud and busy NYC. FYI, I'm pretty sure they are cash only so make sure you have cash with you.
CODY, WYOMING
Beta Coffee House
I stumbled across the Beta Coffee House during during my summer road trip in 2016. We were staying in Cody, WY for a couple nights and this was the only coffee place in Cody. I went in with low expectations but left amazed. The coffee was perfect! I got a cold brew with almond milk and finished it within minutes. Also the atmosphere was super cool (complete with adult coloring books, local art, AND free wifi which was nice after the lack of cellphone service).
OKLAHOMA CITY
Cuppies and Joe
Cuppies and Joe is exactly how you would think it would be: Great cupcakes and baked goods plus excellent coffee. Cuppies and Joe is a great place to get some studying done while enjoying reasonably priced lattes. My favorite is the vanilla iced latte or the cold brew.
KENT, OHIO
Tree City Coffe
Last but certainly not least, is Tree City Coffee in Kent, Ohio. Tree city is home to my favorite cold brew thus far in my 18 years of living. Their coffee has notes of cocoa and is smooth and not at all bitter...what more could you ask for? I have dreams about this cold brew regularly so if you are in/near the Kent area, please try it I promise you will not regret it!
AT HOME
If you are a "brew it yourself" type of person, my recommendation is to get a Keurig. They are easy and convenient and in the long run are cheaper than buying coffee from local shops or Starbucks everyday.
I love using the Coffee Mugs Never Lie* mugs whenever I am brewing my own coffee at home. They are made of high-quality ceramic and are super durable. They are dishwasher and microwave safe which is perfect for my inner lazy girl. All of the mugs are $13.99 and make great gifts!
My favorite thing about these mugs is that you can customize what side the artwork goes on. As a lefty, this has answered all of my left-handed prayers!
Supporting local business is one of my favorite things to do. Coffee Mugs Never Lie is based out of my hometown, St. Louis, MO. I have loved this company for a while now and I am so thrilled to be working with them for this post.
